Planning final video

When planning my final video I started by brainstorming some ideas. I did this useing a mind map format. i feel this gave me the the most freedom to let my creative ideas flow. This was a quick process and I quickly moved onto putting my ideas down onto paper. I did this by drawing out a story board that showed the key scenes within our final video.
I split the idea for my short film down into  sections. this allowed me to highlight key events within the film as well as make short notes on the sections i felt were note worthy. My idea was based around a psysho waking p in the morning and going through their morning routine. All while their face is never fully shown. I feel this will add suspence as the audience will not know who the psycho is. The plot progresses to the psycho calmly walking and entering their garden while dragging a black bin bag around. The binbag if full and heavy. It looks suspiciously. He dragges the bin bag to the middle of his patio where he then proceeds to rip open he bag to reveal the dead body. A sinister look grows on the killers face as he recives pleasure from the dead body. He them starts to pick up variouse different tools untill he picks up the small hand saw and smiles. the screen fades out to black.

Prelim Editing

Once we had finished filming we started the editing process. We needed to make sure that our prelim task clip ran smoothly. the editing software that we used to do this was Adobe Premier Pro. the process of getting all of our individual clips on to the editing software was a challenge within itself. to make sure that the program did not crash we had to insert every clip individually. Once this was done we began the editing. we first had to arrange all of the clips into the correct order. this was easy enough as we had previously labelled the clips 1 and onwards. the next thing we did was we began to cut certain bits out of the clips. within most of the clips you could hear me behind the camera signalling when to start and end the filming. obviously we had to cut this out as leaving it in would have damaged the quality of the overall product. once we had cut out any bits of the film that we did not want we progressed into adding transitions. we carefully chose the transitions that we wanted and that we believed would make the film better. these transitions helped to make the film run smoothly, as well as making them look professional. once this was done we searched for some non copyrighted music to help add dramatic effect to the clip. When we found the music that we deemed appropriate we added it to the film in areas that we felt would add the most suspense. finally we added in the credits to the clip. we only included the actors names.
